Whey Protein

Protein is essential for normal growth, cell repair, and the production of hormones, immune cells, and muscle. Protein is not a supplement for athletes alone. Unlike whole milk, whey protein does not contain fat, lactose, or any other undesirable ingredients.

The proteins that make up the human body are not obtained directly from the diet; rather, dietary protein is broken down into amino acids, which are the basic building blocks of life. It is the amino acids, which are the essential nutrients. Whey protein can raise blood levels of glutathione, the body's primary antioxidant, which is found in every cell. It protects us from free radicals and enhances immune function.

Whey passes through the stomach quickly and the nutrients are rapidly absorbed in the human intestine

Protein and the Athlete

The manner in which the body uses protein during & after exercise is quite different from the way it uses carbohydrates or fat for energy. In hours after exercise, the body begins to build the structural proteins from amino acids for muscle repair and growth, remodeling the tissues needed for performance. This is why whey protein is so important to the athlete.

Whey protein builds & repairs muscle.
